While never losing sight of the looming Grand Canyon-styled
grooves, Canadian newcomers Ion Dissonance have surgically forged a
debut album fit to mystify the mind through a dizzying disharmonic
orchestra of technical proficiency and unabashed abrasion.
Squawking and squirming like R2D2 and C3PO in a cockfight to the
death, Breathing Is Irrelevant asphyxiates even the most assertive
of listeners. Undoubedly one of 2003's best releases.
